RE: Running fridge on the inverter
Have you figured out how much it costs to run ur fridge on LP for a day??? (not much, and it runs better on LP ) I think I will leave mine on LP and forget about the ware and tare on the electrical system
RE: How To Manually Slide Out Generator
Has the generator used any oil in the past?? (2005 I wouldn't think so) When was the last time you checked it? and does it have a low oil shutoff? If you really don't have time to have someone look at it, then If in the past it hasn't used oil, I wouldn't worry about it. They don't cost very much, do they??LOL. I check the oil all the time, I don't know why? I have never added any in twenty years, I just change it when it's time, and it has never been low. I don't think I'll check mine any more.
RE: Pumping gray tank into black tank
Camping world sell a valve that fastens to the valve outlet where you put your hose, With this valve closed, you can open the gray, and the black valves, and let them equalize if you want, with out loosing anything.
RE: New windows for Winnebago
Bago Dealer or drive to Forest city, Iowa. We go to Forest City once a year for stuff and the rally, but we are closer then you.
RE: clean the evaporator coil?
I have used brake parts cleaner with great success on both the evaporator and condenser on number of AC units. Just be sure to put down some plastic drop cloths under the AC unit since a good deal of dirt and grime will drip down.
John :)
It's hard to believe that you got away with useing that stuff on an air cond with foam and plastic parts.
RE: Gray water on campfire
That is why I read this forum, some times I can't believe some of the answers, putting gray water on a fire is OK, it's a lot better then what we used to do, when we was kids, that didn't smell very good. I would not use good water to put out a fire.
RE: Norcold LP
sometimes just cleaning the flame censer, will fix it, that's the thing that the spark jumps to. while you are at it, blow out the burner area.
RE: Downsize from Class A
We thought about it, and decided when we shut our 34' off, (7mpg) we will stay longer. a lot longer. In the past we would leave different areas too soon, not seeing all the sights, now we are there until the next government check catches up.
RE: Anyone camp without satellite TV
The BATWING has not changed in years, as for boost/amp. I have had problems receiving TV this last year in the south, I can get some TV with people telling me to send all my money to them, and I would be promised a place in the, here after, As for Net work TV, poor reception. I got a small antenna from Home Cheapo, and fastened it to the batwing and it boosted the signal a lot. I have checked on going back to Dish, but the networks have doubled in price the last few years, $10.95 now, it was $4.95 for ABC, NBC,CBS, and FOX.
I guess I could set around, and watch wood burn, but I can't stand the excitement or smell.
RE: psycho fridge Qu'est-ce que c'est?
was it setting in one spot? was it going down the road? was it level?
did it display any codes (flashing lites)?
RE: tow dolly vs. 4 wheels down
We have always tow 4 down, until this year, Had a knee replaced, and it didn't go rite, So we got rid of the 5 speed tracker, and got a PT Crus, auto trans, (Love it) Got a tow dolly with electric brakes, and plan on modifying it to carry the bragger ( HD Ultra ) also. The Dolly is less money then a kit for the PT and with the dolly it has brakes. I have found, with a dolly, I can loan it out to friends, and they don't have to worry about damaging it. Run over curbs, and what ever.
RE: Load Capacity of Basement Compartments...
Our Bago compartments will not carry that much, but in the pass through compartments there is storage that is on top the frame rails,(4'X 4'X 18" hi) that will handle anything I can lift in there.
I think the last time I shot at a Club shoot,(this year) I got new shells for $13.50 per 100, What does it cost to reload?? I will not be buying any loading equipment at them prices. They don't give away shot and powder now days.
Brake controler lite???
Just installed a electric brake control for a dolly. I ran the 12volt + from the hot terminal on the fuse box, hot all the time, (like the directions showed) Now I find out the green lite stays on, all the time power is on the controller. My question is, how much power draw is this? Or Should I put a switch in the line???
RE: Ford 1996 F53, Needs brake pads. Did you turn your Rotors?
Yep, gonna dig into doing the disc brakes. I have the Ford service CD. Seems like an easy job, If I don't turn the rotors.
Now, on the cars, I have always turned the rotors, or just bought new, and it likely is not that hard to remove and turn these, or maybe just buy new ones.
Yep, I hate to think of warping the rotors after the install of new pads, or worse yet, having the coach pull when braking. But it seems from reading the Ford CD instructions that turning the rotors is optional.
Yes, I know, it's a good idea to have them turned; and it's also a good idea to buy a new coach to avoid aging problems.
But what I want to know is, did you all turn your rotors when changing the pads on your big BIG rig? And, if not, did you have trouble?
Thanks in advance!

She's a big one

This picture is nothing like our 96 F-53. anyway, I have turned ours twice now, in 8 years, only when they surge, if they would have a small grove ( smooth and true ) I would not turn them, Ours, over heated and burnt the pads and discolored the rotors
RE: F53 Brake Caliper Pins
They are not a solid pin,
Clean the pins up, and the slides, lube them, and make sure you don't put them back in, upside down. I found two in our motorhome, in wrong.
RE: 12V Solenoid/Relays
Buy a very good one, Why??
I parked our motor home at a Mall, we got out and as we walked to the mall entrance, a car with an older lady in it, pulled up, and ask me, " did you know, your motor home is on fire?"
I got it put out, it was the solenoid in the grill. Get a good one.
